The Funeral Ministry at St. Joseph Parish is a service of presence and assistance to the grieving in their time of need. The parish staff, beginning with Fr. Brendan, assist the family with planning the Catholic funeral Mass and the selection of Scripture readings, music, and family participation.
The parishioners of St. Joseph minister by assisting at the funeral Mass as adult altar servers and hospitality ministers. When needed they also will serve as cantor, lector, and Eucharistic ministers. To sign up as a liturgical minister for funerals, contact Laura McKenzie or Gail Assenmacher.
The Funeral Lunch Ministry is staffed with many volunteers who cook, set up, serve, and clean up the meal. Parishioners also donate salads and desserts for this meal. To sign up as a funeral lunch minister for funerals, contact Laura McKenzie.
We pray, serve, and assist the family in praying their family member home to eternal life. It is a time to help those who are hurting to know the love and comfort of God through the care and support of the community.
