Becoming Catholic

RCIA – A Journey of Faith through the Catholic Way of Life

Let us join you on your journey of faith.

What is RCIA and Who Comes?

The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) process is for all those who are interested in becoming a part of the Catholic Faith.  If you are baptized in another faith, not baptized at all, baptized Catholic but never, or only as a young child, practiced the faith we would like to invite you to join us in the RCIA process.

RCIA is an ongoing process and therefore we have no start date for those interested in Catholicism. When you are ready to explore Catholicism we are ready to help you in that endeavor. Every person who comes to us has their own background and their own sense of what it means to be a Catholic Christian. Marinell High, our Director of RCIA , will visit with you and after learning your story will be able to help you begin your journey.

We have a summer schedule which meets every week from mid-June to mid-August.  From mid-August through mid-May we will meet weekly.

Summer sessions are held at the Country Church from 10:00 – 10:45. During this time we get to know one another, answer questions you may have and begin to explore the Mass and the Scriptures. Sessions that begin in mid august are held in Mary’s Room which is on the lower level of the Parish Office located at 3430 Dover on our Village Campus.

If you are interested in taking a look at the Catholic Faith please call Marinell High at the Parish Office at 734-426-8483.

RCIA Adapted for Children

If you have a child over the age of 7 who is baptized in another faith, not baptized at all, or has had no faith formation we would like to invite them to take part in the RCIA process adapted for children.  Children who are baptized Catholic and in 3rd grade or higher and need to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and/or Eucharist would also take part in the RCIA process.

Please call Marinell High at the Parish Office at 734-426-8483
